The Allen Family: Chico Family Photographer

I want to start this blog out with saying, kids will be kids. I say this because one thing I had said the Josh and Tanya while on their shoot was " Don't worry, your kids are actually being really good!" I remember looking at them, and I could tell they were getting a little frustrated with their boys. Which I will also say happens at almost every family/child shoot. I know how easily it is to be worried that the photographer is thinking " man control your kid" or " is this shoot over yet!?" Trust me... I've been there! My 3 year old HATES his photos taken... did I say hates? I mean really HATES his photos taken. Probably because I've been chasing him around with a camera since he was born! Anyways, back to what I was saying.. I think it's really easy for parents to worry that I, the photographer, think their kids are behaving badly or at least not as good as they should, but what I always tell parents is, kids will be kids! It's not normal for kids to want to sit still and take photos, or look at the camera! What is normal is for brothers to want to goof off, or mess up each others hair, or do exactly opposite of what mom and dad say! If I couldn't handle a little bit of craziness from kids, I definitely wouldn't be in the profession I am. I think growing up in a large household really helped in my ability to deal with a little craziness. So I say let your kids be kids and don't worry, it's my job to capture them and all of their craziness.
